Garissa Women Representative Anab Subow Gure has finally heeded the call of a poor but bright pupil who scored 329 marks in 2018's Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.
Gure responded after the family of the bright pupil Siyad Aden Barkhatle, who is a total orphan, revealed that he would not be joining form one in 2019 due to lack of fees.
In a social media post, the vocal female politician stated that she had decided to fully sponsor the bright pupil throughout his entire high school education.
"I have decided to fully sponsor his entire high school education. Siyad was admitted to Malindi progressive high school whose fees is Ksh 75,000 per year totaling to more than Kshs. 300,000 in the entire 4-year term," Gure revealed.
Reports indicate that Siyad’s biological father who was the sole breadwinner passed on several years back leaving his family grappling with abject poverty. Worse still, his step-father who took over the responsibility from his deceased dad cannot fend for the family as he has been living with paralysis and now bed-ridden.
Gure's gesture of generosity will help the boy realise his dreams.
