A 43-year-old Kisumu man is now appealing for financial help to facilitate the removal of a metallic plate inserted in his left leg after he got injured in a road accident in 2016.
James Odongo Cosino, a resident of Migosi Estate is Kisumu says his tribulations started in July 23, 2016 as he was heading to Kisii to witness a graduation ceremony of his friend.
“I boarded a vehicle in Kisumu but never got to Kisii. The vehicle I had boarded got involved in a road accident around Ayweyo area. Some passengers died while others got injured. I was among the injured,” said Cosino.
He got injuries on his two legs and the head, and was admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital for two months.
He was operated on, and a metallic plate inserted in his left leg to assist him walk again. But in May this year, Cosino says the plate broke causing unbearable pain to him.
He now urgently needs Sh100, 000 so that the plate can be removed and another one inserted.
“Doctors have told me that if the plate is not removed immediately, it may cause cancer,” he said.
He noted that he has tried reaching out to Kisumu Central MP Fred Ouda and Kondele ward MCA Joackim Oketch Swagga but is yet to get a proper response from the two leaders.
“Kisumu County Woman Representative Rosa Buyu is the only one who has come to my aid. She assisted me with Sh10, 000. I thank her so much,” says Cosino who was an active contractor before the accident.
