President Uhuru Kenyatta has been linked to Wednesday morning chaos at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.

The chaos occurred following a standoff between aviation workers and the management over the proposed takeover of JKIA by Kenya Airways (KQ).

The Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) is opposed to the merger but the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) insists it must go on.

The standoff resulted to a strike by workers leading to cancellation of flights which left many passengers stranded.

Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna claimed President Kenyatta was behind the chaos since he was allegedly planning to grab the airport.

The exiled lawyer further said the head of state was 'no different from his parents': founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta and retired President Daniel Arap Moi whom he branded as 'looters'.

"Mr. @UKenyatta is a masterful thief and a corporate bottom-feeding junky. He was raised on all aspects of looting and tutored well by Jomo, Ngina and Moi. That's why he is currently orchestrating chaos at the JKIA so that he can bankrupt KAA before grabbing it cheap," Miguna tweeted on Wednesday.

Kenyatta's family has been accused of pushing for the KAA-KQ merger so as to recover Sh3.1 billion that the national carrier owes Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) which is owned by the First Family.

Interestingly, CBA's Group Chief Executive Isaac Awuondo is also the KAA board chairman, hence a possibly conflict of interest.
