Fred Matiang'i's inconsistency in executing DP William Ruto's plans led to his axe from inner circle, it has now emerged.
For few months after last year elections, Matiang'i was fronted by Gusii leaders to deputise Ruto in 2022 elections.
"We are confident that Matiang'i is now able to take DP role. This is what we are pushing for," South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro had said.
But lately, Matiang'i has been conspicuously absent from Ruto's rallies a move that informed the DP to withdraw him.
A Jubilee MCA from Nyamira who spoke in confidence said the CS is no longer in DP's plans.
"The DP is investing in youthful leaders and is no longer interested in the minister.
"He has missed key functions this the decision to drop him. The campaign team was drafted and they have been executing Ruto's agenda," she said.
When the DP toured Nyamira and Kisii in June, Matiang'i was conspicuously missing.
Instead, youthful MPs Osoro, Joash Nyamoko and youth leaders presided over the trip.
Also missing from the team are lawyers Ken Ogeto and Evans Monari both who played key roles in Jubilee victory.
