The lawmakers reiterated the purpose of unity among Gusii elected leaders.

"We can't continue being divided while serving our people. As leaders we have agreed to share development ideologies which will make our respective constituencies to grow," said Machogu.

According to Machogu, political parties should not make elected members see each other as an enemy.

Tong'i on his part said NASA leader Raila Odinga dropped his hard stance and agreed to shake hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"There was a political rivalry between Raila and Uhuru but, the two leaders agreed to unite the country by shaking hands. The same handshake should be extended to everyone for our people to continue living in peace, unity and harmony," said Tong'i.

He challenged local leaders who lost during the August 8, 2017 polls to join hands with winners to serve the electorates.

Tong'i urged the electorates to give deaf ears to politicians who will be out to spread propaganda with an aim to seek political relevance.
