President Uhuru Kenyatta has hinted some of the issues he might have discussed with DP William Ruto on Tuesday following claims that ODM leader Raila Odinga was wretching Jubilee Party from within.

In the recent weeks, DP Ruto has often scolded Odinga, accusing him of using Handshake with Uhuru to create disharmony within the ruling party. Also, the DP has also blamed Mr Odinga in the fight against corruption, which he says unfairly targets him.

But on Friday, Uhuru, who defended the Building Bridges Initiative with Mr Odinga, seemed to tell off his DP over attitude to Mr Odinga, insisting that he has no option other than working with the opposition.

"A reporter sometimes asked President Robert Mugabe on when he will let the people of Zimbabwe go; he simply asked him go where? I will also ask the same. Where do you want those who didn't vote for me go? They are going nowhere," said Uhuru.

He added: "Almost half of the people didn't vote for me. Am now serving all of them. How can I know their needs without meeting them? I have to meet them, sit down and discuss. You can expect me to ignore them. There are my people and I must talk to their leaders."

The handshake between Uhuru and Raila has caused discomfort within Jubilee Party with Deputy President William Ruto and his allies claiming it's a wider scheme to block him from succeeding the former in 2022 elections.

But Uhuru insists that the close working relationship with Raila has won admiration from foreign countries and within Kenya, adding that his decision to unite the country remains unstoppable.

He also warned Ruto's allies against politicising the war against corruption, saying that he will not stop with his efforts to restore sanity in the country. Uhuru last week also warned that he will not spare even his closest political allies in the fight against corruption.
