The debate on whether Jubilee will endorse deputy president William Ruto has hit the airwaves in recent times.
It all started after the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Some have speculated that the two involved in the handshake have a deal to lock out deputy president Ruto come 2022.
One may wonder why deputy President Ruto is not overly concerned about it, here are the reasons.
First, Ruto knows he is number two in command in the country and the president must have briefed him of what was agreed during the handshake and he probably knows there was nothing discussed about locking him out.
Furthermore, Ruto is focusing his energy on development for now so as to have evidence to bring to people during campaigns on what he has done.
In addition, Ruto knows that from the remaining Jubilee likely candidates, very few if not none has the political influence he has.
Last but not least, since most of the Jubilee partners thought not be in Ruto's favor come 2022 are from Central region, Ruto knows Kenya is watching and betrayal will mean no one will want to make political deal with central Kenya in future for fear of betrayal.
"There are those hanging around, waiting for endorsements. How do you expect to be endorsed if you have no agenda or programme for the country? " Ruto asked when he met political leaders from Busia and Bungoma county in his Rural Home.
"I am ready to battle with anybody. Let my competitors put on the table what they have done for this country, " He added.
Clearly Ruto has mastered his game and is very well prepared for 2022 with or without endorsement from Jubilee.
