Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has reacted to MPs ‘the list of shame.”
In a long message on his Instagram account, the lawmaker noted that he is not competing with anyone.
He noted that he committed to the transforming the lives of his people through projects and not speaking in parliament. He also assured his residents that nothing will distract him from reaching his goals
“My attention is drawn to an ignominious article in today’s Sunday Nation purporting to list Members of Parliament in our National Assembly by performance.
"From the outset, let me be clear that I am not in competition with my Honorable colleagues but rather, I am fully focused on delivering for my employers, the great constituents of Embakasi East," read part of his message.
The lawmaker noted that he has several motions in parliament including the Amending the universities Act, proposal to increase police service members’ salaries and amendments to the Higher Education Loans Board Act For University students among others.
The list of shame, which was released following a research by Mzalendo Trust, listed ten MPs who have not spoken in parliament since September.
The notable faces include Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Emgwen MP Alex Kosgey, Alfred Sambu (Webuye East),Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West), James Githua Wamacukuru (Kabete), Justus Kizito (Shinyalu), Charles Kamuren (Baringo South) and Joshua Adama (Nyakach).
