A good number of people struggle with TV addiction. They can't help but be glued on their screens watching a movie or their favourite TV show.
This addiction has contributed to unattended tasks and wasted time that could have been used in doing something meaningful.
Here are three ways to beat your TV addiction.
1. Limit the time you spend watching TV
Ensure that each day you minimise the time you spend watching the television. In case you used to watch TV for five hours a day, you can reduce this time to three hours and gradually to two hours. Try setting an alarm so that you can know when these hours run out and switch off the TV.
2. Switch on the TV to watch a particular show
Do not keep the TV always on. This will trigger the curiosity to watch anything aired on TV and you end up using all your time glued even to the less important programmes. Come up with a list of the shows you wish to watch in a particular week. Watch your shows and once you are done, switch off the TV.
3. Spend sometime outdoors at night
To avoid watching TV at night, you can have a chat outdoors or take a walk with friends or your family members after dinner. This will help in passing time before you retire to bed since most people consider their day done once they take supper.
