On Monday, a team of Standard Media Group journalists were attacked while on duty in Machakos County.
Reports indicate that a driver, cameraman; Bonny Magana, and KTN News reporter Caroline Bii, were among those injured while on an assignment in Masii.
"We went to the school in the company of a parent whose daughter had disappeared from the school in March. The school had not given her any details about the daughter's whereabouts and when she asked the school director, they released the students from their classes.
"The girls started beating and they have even torched the car we were using. They have also destroyed a camera worth Sh2.5 million. Bonny was trying to safeguard it but the girls overwhelmed us," the driver who also sustained injuries in the attack told Hivisasa on phone.
