A section of social media users suspect that Stats House Digital Communication Director Dennis Itumbi is desperate to win Jacque Maribe back, taking advantage of her murder case.
On Saturday, Itumbi elicited sharp online reactions when he changed his profile photo on Facebook page by replacing it with Maribe's. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10218878059450915&substory_index=0&id=1485050332.
And his critics believe that the latest antics could be an attempt to show love to Maribe, who has seemingly parted ways with Joseph Irungu, her fiancee.
"Irungu just declare the stand. Come out and tell us she has rocked your heart. Don't hide around bushes," argued activist Dancun Makori.
Another user, Kabz Nyar Kisii added: "This is desperation. It adds no value to us. Itumbi just tell her once and for all that you love her."
In an interview recently, while dismissing her relationship with Itumbi, Maribe however said 'her love with Itumbi is deeper than the normal love'.
In 2015, Itumbi shocked his followers when he presented a birthday cake when Maribe was reading lunch hour news at Citizen TV.
Ms Maribe, who attended Naisula Lesuuda's wedding on Saturday with Itumbi, will return to court in June 2019 for the trial of Monica Kimani's murder where she's implicated directly with her fiance Joseph Irungu.
