Nyamira County senator Eric Okong'o has dismissed Deputy President William Ruto numerous trips to Gusii region saying Ruto won't succeed to get political support in his bid to become President in 2022.
Okong'o maintained that Gusii region has been overwhelmingly voted for the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in the previous elections.
"Ruto's unnecessary trips to Gusii region won't yield any fruits since the Gusii community has been voted for opposition leader Mr. Raila Odinga," he noted.
The Senator condemned a section of leaders who have been accompanying DP Ruto in his Gusii trips saying they are afraid of losing in 2022.
He argued that DP Ruto's penetration in Gusii region is hard due to his bad record.
"Even small kids knows DP Ruto is corrupt. There is no way he can penetrate in the community's politics. Gusii region remains to be an opposition stronghold," he added.
The County senator warned Governor John Nyagarama against condoning lazy workers saying the residents deserve quality service delivery.
Okong'o urged elected leaders to champion for development across all corners in the county.
