Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has poked fun at Deputy President William Ruto after his photo emerged where he is captured wearing a cap with a logo belonging to a top English Premier League team.
In the photo, which Murkomen shared on Twitter, the DP is donned on a cap with Arsenal Football Club logo, the team Ruto has supported for a long time.
The Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator joked that his Jubilee Party boss has been avoiding to wear the cap in public since he has been ashamed of the club's seemingly poor performance.
Since the league started in August last year Arsenal had not managed to reach top-four position but they found themselves there after dramatic Chelsea defeat at the hands of Bournemouth on Wednesday night last week.
Murkomen said Ruto put on the cap to celebrate his team's achievement which had remained only a dream for about six months.
"Arsenal fans are finally wearing their long hidden caps just because they are number 4 on the table. Smh," he posted.https://mobile.twitter.com/kipmurkomen/status/1091744848045096960/photo/1
The photo was taken when the DP accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta during a tour of Kajiado County on Saturday.
In another tweet on Sunday, the Senator, a known Manchester United diehard fan, laughed at Ruto after his team slipped to the sixth position.
The Gunners found themselves at the not very familiar position after they were beaten by 3 goals to one by their bitter rivals Manchester City.
"1st Feb - Arsenal, 4th 2nd Feb - Arsenal, 5th 3rd Feb - Arsenal, 6th," the vocal lawmaker noted.https://mobile.twitter.com/kipmurkomen/status/1092152559165472768?p=v
Man-City's goals were scored by striker Sergio Aguero while Arsenal's consolation was netted by Laurent Koscielny.
