The ODM party on Tuesday announced that it will not loosen the noose on rebel members warning those who are still in support of Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid to prepare for by-elections.
The party's disciplinary committee head Fred Athuok said ODM is determined to bring sanity to the party by not entertaining rebel members.
"The least they should expect are by-elections," he told journalists in Nairobi.
Among those targeted are Aisha Jumwa (Malindi) and his Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori.
But how can Aisha survive the ODM onslaught and still return to Parliament in case she is expelled from the party?
Aisha has one option; to return to the constituency and implement her development agenda for the benefit of the people of Malindi.
By doing this, she would have convinced her voters that she is out to solve their problems and thus she can still work for them even outside the ODM party.
They will vote for Aisha the person and not the party she will vie on during the by-election.
The residents of Malindi, just like voters in other parts of the country need "working representatives".
Politicking alone won't help her since the ODM party has the capacity to unleash a well-oiled campaign machinery to her constituency and ensure she is entirely de-campaigned and that would subsequently make her lose her seat.
