Luo Nyanza is arguably one of the best regions in the country and brags of good people and rewarding economical practices.

With most of its operations only happening at a daytime, there are others that happen at night, most of which are not in any way beneficial.

Here are some of the weird things that happen in most parts of Luo Nyanza at night, which, however, are of no benefit at all.

1. Night running

Night running is very common in all rural parts of the lakeside province. It remains weird, especially how the runners defy sleep and the night cold to take marathons within their areas of 'jurisdiction'. It gets weirder once you notice that they run naked and barefooted, despite having to go through fences and thorny and bushy places at times.

2. Cattle theft

For us who hail from Kano Plains and Nyakach regions where cattle theft is rampant, it is weird how the thieves manage to get into the pens and untie the animals without getting woken up by the noise.

At times, the thieves manage to lead the cattle away silently, despite the fact that they have neck-bells tied of them.

3. Nyawawa

Nyawawa is satanic spirits which, though some people rubbish as hallucinations, roam some regions of the province at night.

They are believed to be the spirits of people who died in the great Lake Victoria and are very common in the area surrounding the lake, Homabay county in this context.

Though invisible, one can always manage to hear the voice of their dead relatives as the group of demons passes singing and chanting.

To scare them away, one needs to hit tins and metal utensils, as they fear noise.

Now you know.
