Even before he formally makes his next political move, business mogul Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki, has hinted a move to Chama Cha Mashinani, which is associated to former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

Uncertainty in Jubilee party is causing anxiety, with a section of Rift Valley leaders now ready to revamp CCM, as an alternative towards 2022 polls.

Mr Bundotich contested  Uasin Gishu gubernatorial elections and lost narrowly to Jackson Mandago. The two had also faced off in Jubilee party primaries which also went in favour of Mandago.

On Wednesday, Buzeki held a closed-door meeting with Isaac Ruto and former MP Zakayo Cheruiyot, both of CCM party. Curiously, DP Ruto's fierce critics Silas Tiren and Joshua Kutuny also attended.

“We just met for lunch and to discuss socio-economic interests of the community and the challenges Rift Valley farmers are facing. No politics was discussed but we want to understand Mashinani Party a bit more. This is the time for politicians to look for alternatives,” Mr Buzeki told the Nation on phone

Earlier, Mr Buzeki announced that he's not interested in the folding political realignments, which are associated with DP Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

He said: “The time has come for me to consider other alternatives. I’m in neither the Kieleweke group nor the Tanga Tanga team."

But the presence of Kutuny and Tiren, very close confidants of Kanu leader Gideon Moi, could indicate that Mr Isaac Ruto is keen to regroup with Moi and Raila Odinga in the near future.

Last year, there were talks that Mr Isaac Ruto was to be recruited to cabinet but that is yet to happen. Also, DP Ruto's confidants leaked plans to have CCM revamped to act as an alternative in case of Jubilee breakup.
