Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama is in trouble following his later cabinet reshuffle.
The county boss appointed an elderly person Mr Johnstone Obike to head the Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture and Social services docket.
The docket in the neighbor Kisii county is held by a youthful CEC Mr Duke Mainga.
A section of youths have protested the governor's move saying he should have considered a youthful person for the post.
"Nyagarama appointing Obike an old man shows how he is not ready to engage youths. The Department of youths should be headed by youthful people," said Daniel Mogendi.
Mr Evelyn Nyanchera asked the county boss to stop taking youths for granted.
"We have youths in Nyamira qualified to serve in the county government. It is high time Nyagarama should appoint a youthful person for the top seats in the county," she stated.
Alloys Nyambane claimed that Obike is unfit to serve in the Sports docket.
"Obike is unfit for the job due to his age. Nyagaramaa should stop joking appointing old people to serve in his government yet we have learned and qualified youths," he said.
