Four ministers who faced imminent relocation to other departments may survive at least for one more year, it has emerged.
Last week, Governor John Nyagarama has reportedly prepared reshuffling list only to drop the idea at the eleventh hour.
And now, Mr. Nyagarama is said to have made a decision to recruit competent Chief Officers to the dockets as he monitors the performance of all ministers for a year.
"They will now have to serve their entire term which lasts for two years. This means that he will review their contracts in 2022 God willing.
"When that time comes, only those who have performed well shall have their contracts renewed. Meanwhile, he will recruit competent Chief Officers and directors to streamline operations," said an insider.
Departments which were due to be affected include Finance Trade and Tourism, Roads and Public Works and public administration.
The county government through Director of Communications Kefa Miller had denied impending changes, only clarifying that the governor was about to reshuffle directors.
"I am only aware of reshuffle of directors and not ministers. Treat the information as rumours," he said.
