Education PS Belio Kipsang has said that there are plans to have all students in Kenya wear the same school uniform.
According to Kipsang, if the plan sails through, the uniform will be made of the same fabric.
This comes after the government implemented the policy of having all school buses with the same colour.
He made the remarks at the Moi University owned Rivertex firm in Eldoret.
Kipsang said that the details of the polict are currently being crafted.
“As we move towards having the same uniform and fabric in all our schools we want Rivatex to prepare so that they are able to play a role in the manufacture of the uniforms that will be required,” he said.
Currently, Kenyan schools have come up with own uniform policies and the move will shake up the industry.
However, Kipsang did not divulge into the prices of the uniforms, something that will interest parents.
