Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has maintained that he will be in the presidential ballot in 2022.
The Ford Kenya party leader said his presidential candidature had been resolved at a consultative meeting in Elementaita, Nakuru County on Sunday.
Wetangula said the party will conduct grassroot elections to revamp it ahead of the 2022 polls.
He said a team led by Eseli Simiyu is already in place to spearhead the elections.
"We would like to inform you that the party has deliberated and agreed that I will be the flag bearer come 2022. We will therefore as from January next year hold our party elections at grassroot level in a move to revamp the party," Wetangula said.
Wetangula, however, downplayed former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale's move to support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
When asked to comment on the move taken by former Kakamega Senator Dr.Bonny Khalwale to support Deputy President William Ruto, Wetangula was quick to state that the party's stand is clear and that it will field a Presidential candidate.
