Former NTV journalist Dennis Omondi has passed on at Kenyatta National Hospital after being overwhelmed by Acute Leukemia.

Dennis Omondi who touched Kenyan's hearts with his passionate appeal for financial assistance to pay for medication returned into the country in June 2018 after he moved to India in search of a bone marrow transplant.

The journalist was first diagnosed with Acute Leukemia in December 2017 and was advised to seek specialised treatment abroad. 

He opted for India where he stayed for about five months and was required up to Sh6.5 million but was only able to raise Sh 5.5 million. 

His wife and other family members and his colleagues were with him until his last breath. 

Dennis Omondi leaves behind a wife and two children. 

Until his death, he was working for West Media Limited — owners of West FM Radio, West TV and Mumbo FM — broadcasting in western Kenya.
