Maseno University postgraduate student who works at a morgue in Kisumu on Monday left a heartfelt message to university students at Maseno and the rest of the country.
Through his social media account, Eddy Wandera challenged fellow students to stop complaining about being broke and accept to work in any capacity given so long as it earned them a living.
“Stop complaining how broke you are. My friend, take any job until you get the right job. Pride will not pay for your pending Bills. I also have got a degree you are telling me about, maybe the only job you will start at the top is digging a hole,” he said.
Eddy who graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology from Maseno University in 2017 has since enrolled for postgraduate studies at the same university.
He started working at the morgue while in third-year to top up on his university fees where he cleans bodies, dress and caskets them ready for burial.
Though he isn't paid much, Eddy has never regretted doing the job as it’s helping him sort out his basic needs.
" I hustle so much at the morgue like a school drop out, clean up the bodies, dress them up and casket them just to get an extra coin for my university upkeep," he said.
He appealed to all students to stop undermining some jobs as the attitude might jeopardize their dreams.
He told them that the government is not responsible directly at creating jobs but can impose favourite policies for increased employment.
