Speaking when he toured the market on Monday, Obure said the market's construction will come to an end by July this year for several traders who were operating in the market to occupy.

The former Kisii Senator further challenged the county government to also allocate funds towards the construction of the project to ensure its completion without delay.

"I want to confirm that the government has already spent Sh204 million constructing the market and still more money will be sent to ensure the completion of the market," he noted.

The CAS further challenged local leaders to stop politicizing government projects which have taken long to end.

He claimed the politicians were taking advantage of the stalled projects to talk ill about the government and asked locals to ignore them.

"Politicians should not mislead people about government projects which may take longer to be completed due to the funds' allocation which is done in bits.," Obure said.
