According to the source, Mr Nyaribo, who is serving his second term jointly with Governor John Nyagarama, was rushed to Kisumu when he developed breathing difficulties but was released later on.

“The truth is, he was rushed to Kisumu where he was briefly put in life support. However, he has since been released. He developed breathing difficulties but all now is well,” said the source from office of the governor.

Mr Nyaribo resumed duties last month after four months absence due to his hospitalization in India over after a kidney operation.

However, his PA, Robert Tai, disputed the news as malicious, adding that the deputy county boss has been in Nairobi and was to attend a conference in Naivasha later on Thursday.

“It is very malicious. The DG is in good health and has been in Nairobi. He is travelling to Naivasha to attend a conference for Deputy Governors. He is very stable,” he claimed.

Mr Nyaribo was seen last on Thursday in public when he accompanied Governor Nyagarama to various wards while launching projects.
