But there’s only one player from the Turkana origin in history to play and score for Gor Mahia.

That player is none other than Eliud Lokuwam.

His other name is Nanok, which he shares with Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok.

On August 16, Lokuwam rose from the bench in the second half to score the lone goal as Gor Mahia beat Chemelil Sugar 1-0 in a KPL encounter. Despite featuring for Gor Mahia, the youngster is a third year student at the Kenyatta University pursuing a degree course in Economic Finance.

“I am a student yes, but football is in me. I do train hard and my dream is to do well and achieve more in football alongside my education,” he is quoted by the official Gor Mahia website.

“It feels good to score a goal in league match. Gor Mahia is a big club and l am lucky to be part of it… my aim is to work hard and l am yearning for more play time. I hope my coach will consider me in more matches because l have what it takes and ready to deliver,” added the skillful striker.
