Former Starehe Member of Parliament aspirant Boniface Mwangi has come out to celebrate the demolition of the Prime Place Restaurant which is opposite the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
The restaurant is among other structures which will be demolished over encroachment into the Kenya Railways land reserve.
Taking to his twitter account moments after the structure was brought down, the city human rights activist, laid down various pleas to government officials.
He asked the Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to prosecute land grabbers.
He also asked the Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko to fire his County officials who gave permission for the development of the illegal structures.
“Finally the illegal structure at Nyayo Stadium have come down. @FredMatiangi @ODPP_KE @EACCKenya you need to prosecute the people who grab public spaces. @MikeSonko you need to fire the county officials who gave approvals for the structures to be built,” said Boniface Mwangi.
The demolition was carried out by the famous 'Sany' under supervision from police officers.
It is claimed that the structure belongs to Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi.
The demolitions will continue as other structures on public lands will also be brought down.
