Wareng KNUT secretary John Boor says the move is uncalled for and shows that the Ministry of Education is sleeping on the job.

“As KNUT we are against closure of school does it mean that the government has now discovered that schools were in bad shape after the Precious Talent Top School incident? Where were they in the past,” said Boor.

The KNUT official who spoke to the press in Eldoret town on Sunday wondered how the ministry allowed the school to operate without registration.

Most of the schools which were closed were not registered, didn’t have trained and registered teachers while others had poor infrastructure.

“CS George Magoha and his team are acting in impulse where were you in the first place, where were the curriculum support officers, zonal education officers. This shows incompetence in the Ministry of Education,” added the Wareng KNUT secretary.

He further revealed that 7 schools in his branch have been closed due to lack of trained teachers, poor infrastructure and lack of trained teachers.

Boor called on the Ministry of Education to get serious and stop punishing students by closing their schools yet it's their fault.
