Government pathologist Johansen Oduor has revealed the likely cause of Sharon Otieno's death.
According to Oduor, the deceased Rongo University student died from excessive bleeding.
The bleeding resulted from eight stab wounds found on her body.
The autopsy report further indicated that Otieno might have been raped before meeting her death.
On Friday morning, detectives probing the matter found used condoms were discovered at the scene where Otieno's body was discovered.
Speaking on Friday after conducting the autopsy, Oduor noted that the deceased's unborn baby was also stabbed several times.
“Sharon was stabbed three times on the neck, four times on the back and on the left side of the abdomen,” Oduor said while addressing reporters.
Otieno had bruises on the kneck an indication that before meeting her death, there was some struggle.
So far, Michael Oyamo, the personal assistant of Migori governor Okoth Obado has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder. Governor Obado has since denied being involved in the murder.
Before meeting her death, Otieno was abducted and alongside Nation Media Group journalist Barrack Oduor. Oyamo is believed to have initiated the abduction.
The journalist managed to escape from the abductors by jumping out of the moving vehicle. He sustained knee and back injuries.
