Deputy President William Ruto has maintained that the construction of the multi-billion Itare dam will continue.
The construction of the dam has been shrouded by controversy which threatens to grind all construction works to a halt.
The DP spoke during his tour in Nakuru on Friday when he graced a farewell mass of five family members who perished in the Ethiopian plane crash.
Ruto condemned political leaders who have been tarnishing his name and maliciously involving him in the alleged graft case.
He reiterated that he will put all his political detractors to shame once the dam is completed given that completion works are at 40 per cent.
“Despite the many issues you have heard about the project, I want to assure the people of Nakuru and Kenya as a whole that the project will be completed,” said Ruto.
He also added that the government is still committed to implementing the construction of 57 mega dams in the country that they had promised Kenyans.
