Nakuru Governor Lee Kinaynjui has sent his condolences to the family of the late blogger Alex Ong’era popularly known as Mkuu wa Misamiati.
“It is with great sadness and loss that I have learned of the demise of Alex Ong'era, popularly known as Mkuu Wa Msamiati. To the family, friends and the Mau Narok fraternity, kindly accept our condolence and we stand with you at this difficult moment,” Kinyanjui said.
The blogger died after a short illness on March 3.
The county boss hailed the late for being ‘the voice of the voiceless’.
“I have known Alex from 2013 and came to admire his passion for the advancement of Swahili language. He was proud of this language and took great effort to advance it. He was also engaged in the advancement of social justice. He was a voice for the voiceless. He was never afraid to speak his mind and would not be swayed or intimidated easily,” Kinyanjui said.
The governor also contributed Sh20, 000 to help the family in preparations for burial. The blogger will be buried on Friday at his Meta Farm home in Mau-Narok.
