Nakuru Town East legislator David Gikaria was on Monday charged before a Nakuru court over fraud.
Gikaria, who is also the parliamentary chairperson for Energy committee, was arraigned before principal magistrate David Mararo facing eight charges relating to land scams.
The MP denied the charges and was released on a personal bond of three million and surety of a similar amount or one million cash bail.
The MP was arraigned in court hours after his arrest and grilling at Nakuru DCI offices.
Rift Valley region DCI boss Gideon Kibunja confirmed that the MP had been grilled over the matter.
Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama hit out at the police over the matter saying they were only interested at damaging his colleagues name politically.
The case will be mentioned on January 30.
