Two meetings held on Friday night hours before his Washington DC trip would yet again define President Uhuru Kenyatta's committment in fight against graft, reports the Standard.
At a Church service in Karen a fortnight ago, Uhuru claimed the purge against impunity and graft has cost him friends.
"I have received many calls with some saying that I should stop demolitions. I have lost friends just because of that," he said.
A secret dossier handed over to him by Muilti-Agency Task Team reportedly implicated senior government officials and his close allies on Friday is said to have angered the president.
Precipitated by the report, an agitated Uhuru held closed-door meetings with security agencies one at State House and another one at Harambee House where he's said to have given detectives an okay to nab those mentioned in the report.
“President Kenyatta is disappointed and feels betrayed by his close lieutenants, senior people are implicated in the dossier,” a source privy to the dossier’s details told the Sunday Standard.
With Uhuru keen to destroy corruption monster, already, detectives acting on the report, are said to have raided a house to an aide to senior official on Wednesday night.
Building Bridges initiative, fight against graft and Big Four agenda are among Uhuru's topical issues he's ready to nail for his own benefit.
“The president is determined to exterminate the monster of corruption and the ripple effects of the purge targeting the big fish and whales will likely determine or scuttle the 2022 succession politics,” another source said.
A section of politicians allied to the DP William Ruto have openly criticized the ongoing war against graft saying that it's guided by 2022 succession politics.
Uhuru ordered lifestyle audit which has also not gone down well with Ruto's loyalists.
