A total of 26,043 pupils in Uasin Gishu County will sit for this year's Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
According to Uasin Gishu County Director of Education Gitonga Mbaka, the pupils will sit for their examinations in 706 examination centres.
"All is set for the 2019 KCPE where out of the 26,043 pupils who will sit for the exams 13,101 students are boys while 12,942," said Mbaka.
Mbaka who spoke to the press in his office on Monday assured students of their security during the exam period.
"We have enough vehicles to transport the exams to various places in the county. We expect the exams to start at 8.00 am, " added Mbaka.
They will undertake their examinations at Ngeria and Eldoret GK prisons respectively.
He, however, said that 25 students will sit for their examinations in prison.
Mbaka noted that a total of 19,138 students will sit for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) where 9,407 students are male while 9,731 are female.
KCPE will start on October 29, while KCSE is scheduled to start on November 4.
