Sources close to the preparation of Mama Peninah Osero's funeral say the two politicians have confirmed attendance in one of the funeral that would see hundreds of politicians come together.

Peninah is mother to seasoned Borabu politician Patrick Osero, whose relationship with Ruto and Raila dates back to 2007 when the ODM party was formed.

"Both Raila and Ruto have confirmed attendance unless they change their plans within the week. We are expecting them along with a host of friends to our brother Osero," he said in confidence since he's not allowed to speak on behalf of the family.

The source added: "After all, the three share great history and that would be manifested once they come. It's going to be a good send off."

For the better part of Sunday, government vehicles patrolled Osero's Borabu home where the mother will be laid to rest, an indication that top government officials will be attending.

When contacted, ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire said the Orange party will mourn with Mr Osero given his contributions to it before he joined Jubilee.

"What I can guarantee you is that the ODM family will stand with him. He was one of the pioneer member and after all, the handshake is doing wonders."

Apparently, a week after the funeral, Raila Odinga is expected to host President Uhuru Kenyatta in Gusii as part of their agreement to preach peace in the spirit of the handshake.
