Should he succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto will lock up Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho over drug trafficking, a Jubilee legislator has claimed.
So strained is the relationship between the two that Joho vowed to do all he can ' to lock him out of State House'.
"We shall do all within our reach to ensure he doesn't get there. We all know his unscrupulous antics for survival," he said in reference to Ruto over the weekend at Baringo.
The DP, who is making inroads in the Coast, a traditional stronghold of Raila Odinga, has seized tens of MP as Joho continues to fight back.
And Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi sensationally claimed that the outspoken governor has been trading in 'drugs' thus unfit to lecture Kenyans on corruption.
"Joho should not even speak about corruption. He's very corrupt and has spoilt our kids by selling them illegal drugs.
"If Ruto takes over, he will be locked in Kamiti because that's where he belongs," he said.
Mr. Sudi, a close ally of DP Ruto, further claimed that the ship destroyed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2015 belonged to Joho.
Despite reconciling with Uhuru after a protracted political battle, Joho is not yet ready to shake hands with Ruto.
His inroads at the Coast have met a resistance from a group of politicians allied to Joho thus the fierce battle.
The Mombasa governor has a cordial working relationship with Raila and Senator Gideon Moi.
