Residents accused the county disaster management for failing to respond quickly despite being informed in time.

"Fire fighters arrived at the scene late without water to put off the fire. It is shameful that the county government under the leadership of Governor Nyagarama is never prepared to handle disasters," said an angry local Ivy Orina.

Gwaro Obiri noted that she lost his academic certificate in the fire incident.

"I lost my academic certificates and other important documents just because the county fire fighters didn't respond quickly to the alarm," Obiri lamented.

"Probe has commenced to to know what caused the fire. Traders should stop throwing insulted to fire fighters," he said.
