Obado is accused of involvement in the murder of slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno on October 3.

On Thursday, he headed back to the Milimani High Court in Nairobi for the mentioning of the case.

He was accompanied by his team of lawyers, reports the Daily Nation. The case will be mentioned again January 21, 2019.

Sharon, whose body was found in a thicket near Oyugis Town, Homa Bay County, was seven months pregnant at the time of her murder.

The murder reportedly followed her abduction outside Graca Hotel in Rongo, Migori County, days prior.

The Governor has since admitted that he was in a romantic relationship with the deceased who hails from Magare Village in Homabay.

A DNA test also proved that he had fathered the child who was killed alongside the mother.

The murder has seen two of the Governor's aides Caspal Obiero and Michael Oyamo locked up over similar allegations.

Obado was released from the Industrial Area Remand Prison in Nairobi in late October after a month in custody.

He was released on a Ksh5 million bond, with a number of conditions, including not setting for in Homa Bay county.

The case is being handled by High Court Judge Justice Jessie Lesiit.
