The MCAs want Ngilu to carry her own cross for failing to deliver on her mandate.

Speaking at Musila Gardens in Kitui on Sunday, the MCAs said Ngilu's impeachment is unstoppable.

Led by Kyuso MCA Stephen Kivunzi, the county legislators said their first agenda once they resume Assembly sessions next month will be to impeach Ngilu.

"Ngilu cannot stop her impeachment and should prepare to exit office for failing to deliver on her mandate," Kivunzi said.

The MCAs said Ngilu is not fit to run the affairs of Kitui County.

The county legislators asked locals to prepare themselves for a fresh gubernatorial election.

Ngilu has rubbished the MCAs plot to have her impeached.

She said she is not afraid, adding that her resolve is to continue providing services to the residents.

Ngilu has accused the MCAs of frustrating her leadership.

Kitui MCAs and the governor are embroilled in a tussle over the county's supplementary budget.

The MCAs have refused to approve the budget until Ngilu accounts for the previous budgets.

Last month, Ngilu is said to have reached out to Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka for intervention.
