Orengo paid a visit to local benga (Ohangala) star Lady Maureen at the St Francis Hospital in Kasarani constituency where the artist was reportedly admitted on Saturday night after she fell ill at her home in Nairobi.

"Was proud to stand in solidarity with our very own musician Lady Maureen when we paid her a visit at St Francis Hospital, Kasarani."Said Orengo in a tweet.

The Senator, however, did not reveal the ailment the musician was suffering from.

Kenyans after the visit hailed Orengo for being at the forefront in supporting local artists especially those who have at least once supported politicians in their music.

"I admire the life of my Senator James Orengo because he is for everyone. Anytime you need him, he will always be there for you. Today was a challenge to other leaders more so from the Luo community. I urge them to serve others like Senator Orengo," said Alare Onyango.

Another tweet from Ken Ignatius read: "Thank you James Orengo, the walking Constitution."

Tom Bando: "I love James Orengo, he is the man of the people."

Farouk Nero said: "Thanks James Orengo for standing with our Orange lady,"

While Odak Onyango twitted saying, "That was the greatest thing ever senior counsel."

Lady Maureen was arrested and detained on April 14 in Tanzania after being accused of being in the country without valid travel documents.
