A woman escaped death narrowly on Sunday after her drunk husband chased her with a machete. The incident happened at Bonyaiguba in West Mugirango, Nyamira County.
Witnesses said trouble started when the man, Philip Masiemo returned home and found his wife Teresia Kemunto naked in their bedroom.
"Masiemo left a chang'aa den and arrived home where he found Kemunto naked in their bedroom. He started shouting that Kemunto was with a man in the bedroom, the claims Kemunto refuted," said Gladys Mabuka.
Mrs Mabuka said Masiemo picked a panga and chased Kemunto while naked from the bedroom.
Area assistant chief Alfred Okwena said Masiemo 'beheaded' their goat after he failed to catch up with Kemunto.
"Masiemo beheaded his goat and took the head to a neighbour's homestead where his wife went to seek refuge. Luckily members of the public apprehended him and surrendered him to my office," he said.
Okwena noted that the troublesome man will spend the night behind bars at Kebirigo police post.
"He is being held so that once he is sober he will be arraigned in court to be charged over disturbance," he added.
He warned men against consuming chang'aa to chase their wives.
