Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has responded to Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s demand for an apology after they linked him to drug trafficking. Through his lawyer Kelvin Ochieng, Joho demanded an apology.
However, Sudi said that the there are no apologies to make over their sentiments about the governor because they knew what they were talking about.
“Let me take this chance to answer Mr. Joho who is my friend. I have seen his letter that directs us to apologise over what we said about him and drugs. I want to tell him that he should look for other stupid people. I have a stand and I want to tell him clearly,” he said.
“I want to tell Joho that we were not in Parliament in 2010 and Professor George Saitoti said that he had done investigations that linked Joho to drugs. I believe Saitoti’s report and all leaders below 40 years must fight drugs,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Joho has written to the Office of the General Secretary of Interpol in Paris, France, to clarify a letter that is doing rounds on social media. Joho states that the letter has caused irreparable damage to him.
“This has caused irreparable damage and will continue to do so if there is no official confirmation from your office on the authenticity or lack therefore of the said statement and notice,” states part of the letter.
