Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is no doubt one of the richest Kenyans alive.
Sonko, whose real name is Mbuvi Gideon Kioko Mike was born in 1975 at Mua Hills in Mombasa.
Sonko attended Kikowani Primary School before proceeding to Kwale High School.
His early life was not easy. Today, Sonko lives in a multi-million house and drives luxurious cars that many of us will die dreaming about.
Many have been questioning how Sonko made his wealth.
In 2015, Sonko revealed that he made his first million when he was still in high school.
The governor said that he has invested in different sectors of the economy including transport and business.
He also disclosed that matatus generate a lot of profit for him.
He said that he owned several matatus before he entered the political arena.
The flamboyant governor also said that he has invested in real estate.
He owns a number of properties across the nation.
Real estate is among the most profitable investments and Sonko can attest to that.
“You can make millions, even billions from real estate. And I owned matatus in Buruburu even before I got into politics.”
It is estimated that Sonko's net worth is $120 million.
His influence in the political scene has seen him create more wealth.
In the past, Sonko was linked to drug trafficking, claims he has dismissed on several occasions.
