Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has been warned against his closeness with DP William Ruto.
A Kisii based ODM politician Samuel Omwando on Tuesday claimed that Maangi will find it hard to succeed his boss Governor James Ongwae in 2022 due to his closeness with DP Ruto.
“Maangi’s closeness with DP Ruto will cost him dearly in 2022 if he will decide to vie for the governorship race. Kisii constituents will not elected anyone having close ties with DP Ruto,” he said.
Omwando called on Maangi to help his boss to deliver services and stop following DP Ruto around.
The vocal politician challenged Gusii region elected leaders to work closely and involve members of the public to ensure development is realized.
“Leaders must engage members of the public when coming up with development plans. We need our people to enjoy the fruits of devolution,” he noted.
He said corruption should not be condoned at the county since it will derail development.
Omwando called on Governor James Ongwae to ignore critics and work around the clock to deliver according to the promises he made during the last year’s campaigns.
Omwando lost the Kitutu Chache South MP race during the last year's polls which he was seeking on an ODM party ticket.
