It was song and dance in Kericho on Monday after police gunned down two people believed to be members of a killer gang that has been marauding the area.
The two are said to be behind the murder of three people among them a couple which was brutally killed in their house.
Police said an axe and a machete, believed to be their tools of murder, were recovered after the two were floored.
Police sources told this writer the two were shot dead by a special unit of sleuths who had been dispatched to Getarwet area to track down the criminals.
A day after they arrived, the criminals were lying at Gatarwet dead.
The news of the death of the two saw residents swing into celebrations. They said the criminals had been on a crime spree in the area.
“They are the ones who killed Cheborgei High School teacher Willy Sang and his wife. We can now sleep peacefully,” a resident said.
