4 suspected criminals are on the run after escaping from the police while being ferried to the Migori GK Prison.
The incident happened when 6 suspects being taken back to the prison from Rongo Law Courts jumped off a police car at Stella in Uriri.
Ironically, according to the police, the suspects managed to get away despite the fact that they were handcuffed during the Wednesday instance.
According to area police boss Joseph Nthenge, two suspects were rearrested after the escape attempt.
The two were captured after a search in a nearby sugarcane plantation where the group escaped to, with the remaining four still at large.
Nthenge who noted that a team of law enforcers has been deployed to recapture the group, maintained that they will soon be brought back into custody.
He called for the public's assistance in identifying the suspects, urging them to report to the police should they spot them.
