Four judges were on Monday interviewed in the ongoing Court of Appeal recruitment.
The four judges include Justices Abida Ali Aroni, Msagha Mbogholi, Aggrey Muchelule and Mumbi Ngugi.
"Today, four candidates were interviewed by the Judicial Service Commission for the position of Court of Appeal (CoA) Judge. They include Justices Abida Ali Aroni, Msagha Mbogholi, Aggrey Muchelule and Mumbi Ngugi. CoA has an approved limit of 30 judges. It currently has 19," posted the Judiciary.
More judges will face the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) panel on Tuesday. They include; Justices Weldon Korir, Elijah Njagi, Boaz Olao and Maureen Onyango.
Justices Kariuki Mwangi, George Odunga, Stephen Radido and John Mutungi will appear before the vetting panel on Wednesday with the recruitment process set to end on July 1, 2019.
A total of 35 candidates were shortlisted and 11 of them are expected to fill vacant positions at the Court of Appeal.
So far, the Court of Appeal has 19 judges. However, it is permissible to accommodate up to 30 judges.
This process will see faster processing of cases which has been taking a lot of time due to a limited number of judges.
The processes are taking place without media coverage as the interviews are carried out at JSC secretariat offices in Re-Insurance Plaza which have limited space.
