Deputy President William Ruto has denied claims that he is against the historic handshake between his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Dr Ruto while speaking at Gusii Stadium on Saturday during the sadaka maluum contributions to support in building our Seventh Day Adventist Church South Kenya Conference offices said rivals are using the backdoor to get attention from Kenyans.
"I have never been against the handshake as claimed by my rivals. All I'm against is how the handshake is being misused by a section of politicians," he stated.
He admitted that the handshake is helpful in this country.
"Through the handshake we have seen Kenyans living and working together as brothers and sisters. Those spreading lies that Ruto is secretly fighting the handshake should know from today that I'm fully supporting the handshake," he noted.
The Deputy President warned politicians against dwelling much on propaganda while boycotting their duties and responsibilities.
"Elected leaders should wake up and serve the electorates instead of concentrating more on propaganda. Electorates elected people to work but, not spread falsehood against others," argued Ruto.
