In an exclusive interview, a section of residents expressed mixed reactions over the issue that continues to dominate political debates across the country.

Ayub Kadhiambo who introduced himself as youth leader, Kisumu County, said that Orengo has come out to speak his mind while insisting that he will support plans to impeach the DP, if any.

“Orengo has come out to speak his mind while other leaders remain quiet. They don’t want to say anything concerning Ruto, concerning corruption.

"Others are just shouting and heckling in funerals. So we are asking Orengo to continue with impeachment,” he said.

Joshua Owino, Chairman of Bunge la Wananchi Nyanza region, however, differed with Kadhiambo.

According to Owino, impeaching the DP will be akin to creating disunity in the country.

“Orengo has all the constitutional rights to say what he said but if you ask me, he was just doing what politicians do best – politicking. Reports linking Ruto to corruption are mere allegations,” he said.

During a rally in Ugenya constituency, Siaya County over the weekend, Orengo stirred controversy when he said that the threshold of impeaching the DP is much lower than that of impeaching the President.
