Speaking on Citizen TV on Tuesday evening, the former Gatanga lawmaker said that some top party officials bungled the primaries for personal reasons.

He claimed that the team was led by Deputy President William Ruto who rigged out some of the winners in favour of his own persons.

He alleged that most of the fraudulent winners went ahead to win in the general polls basing on the nature of voting in the region, where most Jubilee candidates proceeded to win.

Most of the losers whom he said won, he added, are well known and popular persons who were going to win were it not for the alleged rigging scheme.

"Ruto and team rigged out some of our people in Mt Kenya and planted their own people in the primaries. They went aged to win because they had the Jubilee ticket," he claimed.

Asked why he remained silent on the undemocratic actions, Murathe said that his hands were tied.

"I was watching it but there was nothing I could do about it," he claimed.

This came after the postponement of the primaries, in what Murathe now claims was propagated by Ruto's camp creating a commotion ahead of the process.
