Releasing him on bail on Wednesday, Justice Jessie Lesiit slapped the Governor with a number of tough conditions, one disallowing him from accessing 20 kilometer radius from Homabay County.

This means that the Governor can no longer access his mansion in Rapogi, as it falls within the distance he was cautioned against.

The Governor can, however, access his other palatial home in his Uriri Sub-county homeland, which falls out of the red zone as was defined by the Judge, reports the Nation.

Obado was arrested on September 21 over allegations of involvement in the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

Ms Otieno’s body was retrieved from a thicket in Homabay County earlier in the month, in what a team of pathologists confirmed was murder by strangulation and stabbings.

Obado would later land in the middle of the probe after admitting to have been in a romantic relationship with the deceased, and was later confirmed to have fathered her unborn baby.

In her ruling, Justice Lesiit added that the Governor is not to get into contact with Sharon’s family which lives in Homabay, and should as well not make an attempt to interfere with the witnesses.

In the event that he contravenes the directives, Lesiit noted that his bail will be cancelled.
